iPhone 18 Pro: a camera upgrade for creators
A new camera, A20 Pro power and a premium price. Here’s what caught my eye.
Apple announced the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max on September 9, with availability starting September 18. For me, the camera is the interesting part.
What’s new?
The 48MP main camera now has variable aperture. That means more control over light and how much of your photo stays in focus. Apple also adds manual camera controls and 4K time-lapse recording.
Inside is the A20 Pro chip with a redesigned cooling system. Apple promises better sustained performance, which could help with demanding games and video work. I haven’t tested it, so this is a first look, not a hands-on review.
The price and my take
US starting prices are $1,199 for the Pro and $1,299 for the Pro Max. Those aren’t Ghana shop prices. I still lean towards Samsung, but extra camera control gets my attention. For creators, the real question is whether it improves the content you make.
